"Boo-Boos and Re-Dos"

Shiny spots:

Materials:
  • 1500 Grit sandpaper (automotive)

Place a small piece of the sandpaper down on the vinyl.  Gently pull it over the area that is shiny--only apply light pressure..

Do not rub in a circle.  Just straight over it lightly.

Removing exterior paint/ Correcting details:

Materials:
  • Fingernail Polish Remover
  • Cotton Balls

Fingernail polish remover works well at removing paint that has been just painted on the vinyl.  This is a great option for correcting recent paint for eyebrows, nails, lips, blushing, and any other painted detail work.

Take a cotton puff and soak it with fingernail polish remover.  Rub over the vinyl and the paint will come right off.

Removing Interior Paint:

Materials:
  • Acetone or Fingernail polish remover with acetone
  • Cotton Puffs
  • Hemostats or other long object

If you aren't happy with the color of the interior paint it is easily removed.

Soak a cotton ball with the acetone and attach to the end of your hemostats.  Rub cotton ball on the interior vinyl.  You will need several cotton balls to remove all of the paint.

If the nose (or mouth) has been opened check the face for any paint that may have run out onto the face.

Wet another cotton ball in water with a touch of soap and wipe the interior down.  If it is very wet inside the head you may use cotton balls or stuff paper towels inside to remove the moisture.

Remember, you can not assemble your doll until the  interior vinyl is completely dry.
